A record year at GCMC!

We are beyond amazed and grateful to share that this year we welcomed 100 babies into the world at our little rural hospital, the most births we’ve ever had in a single year!

This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our incredible team of physicians, nurses, and support staff who pour their hearts, skill, and dedication into caring for our moms, babies, and families every single day.

Proof that even a small, rural hospital can make a big impact. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year so special and congratulations to all the families who trusted us with their biggest moments!

GCMC Honored as a U.S. Best-in-Class Employer by Gallagher

Quinter, KS 12/10/2025— Gove County Medical Center (GCMC) has been recognized as a Best-in-Class Employer as outlined in Gallagher’s 2025 U.S. Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey for implementing effective strategies and achieving measurable outcomes, such as cost reductions and enhanced employee wellbeing. This prestigious honor underscores GCMC’s outstanding dedication to fostering a workplace where employees thrive through innovative strategies that prioritize health, financial confidence, and career growth—all while maintaining a sustainable cost structure.

A Workplace That Inspires

Gallagher’s Best-in-Class Employer designation serves as a testament to GCMC’s people-first approach. It communicates to both current and prospective employees that the organization is deeply invested in their wellbeing and professional success.

“At GCMC, we recognize that our caregivers are the heart of our organization. We strive to create a workplace where they feel valued and appreciated, while ensuring that our benefits strategy is not only great for our employees, but also cost-effective and strategically beneficial for the organization. We are honored to have received this recognition,” said Conner Fiscarelli, CEO, GCMC.

What Makes GCMC Best in Class?

Gallagher’s rigorous evaluation process assessed organizations across several critical areas, and GCMC excelled in:

  • Degree of retirement planning support provided
  • Difference in healthcare costs over the prior year

“When employees feel valued, supported and connected, they perform at their best—driving positivity, retention, and overall business prosperity,” said John Tournet, U.S. CEO of Gallagher’s Benefits & HR Consulting Division. “This proactive approach to people strategy is what makes Gove County Medical Center a true Best-in-Class Employer.”

GCMC Earns CMS Birthing-Friendly Hospital Designation

Gove County Medical Center (GCMC) is proud to announce its designation as a CMS Birthing-Friendly Hospital, a federal recognition from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This designation identifies hospitals that participate in maternal health quality-improvement initiatives and implement evidence-based safety practices that support the well-being of mothers and newborns.

The Birthing-Friendly designation is the first federal quality recognition focused specifically on maternity care. Hospitals earning this distinction self-attest to their involvement in statewide or national perinatal quality collaboratives and their use of established maternal safety practices designed to improve readiness, response, and communication in obstetric care.

This recognition reflects GCMC’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality maternity care for the families we serve. Our OB team continues to implement evidence-based practices, engage in continuous quality improvement, and collaborate with regional partners to support maternal health across Kansas.

Families can now find GCMC listed as a Birthing-Friendly Hospital on CMS’s Care Compare website, which helps patients identify hospitals actively engaged in maternal care quality-improvement efforts.

Gove County Medical Center remains dedicated to supporting mothers, babies, and families with Care You Can Trust—from pregnancy through postpartum recovery.
